The Bristol Soup Run Trust operates every night of the year to provide food and support to those experiencing homelessness and poverty in Bristol. They were founded it 1986 and since then they have operated a daily soup run, taking food, hot drinks and clothing out into the street of Bristol to support homeless people and others in need. They began as a small group providing hot drinks and a listening ear. Over the decades, it has evolved into a vital Bristol charity support system, with coordinating teams that deliver homeless outreach services to the city every night, rain or shine. They serve as a federation of around twenty teams dedicated to providing essential homeless outreach services.
The donated mobile phones and SIM cards will provide valuable support to people experiencing homelessness by enabling them to stay connected with essential services, support networks, healthcare providers, and potential employers. Improved access to communication will help reduce digital exclusion and support individuals in accessing the assistance and opportunities needed to improve their circumstances.
