The Guru Nanak Gurdwara Football Club was nominated by our VIP attendee, Lord Mayor Kulwinder Singh Johal. This charity is a community organisation that promotes participation in healthy recreational activities for the benefit of the residents of Leicester, Leicestershire, and surrounding areas. The club aims to address the under-representation of members of the Asian community in grassroots and professional football and increase participation from these communities in all areas of grassroots football. Through its activities, the club provides opportunities for people of all ages to improve their physical health, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and build lasting community connections. The organisation also helps to create an inclusive environment where individuals can develop confidence, engage in positive activities, and become more involved in their local community. The charity received one laptop.
The donated device will enable the Guru Nanak Gurdwara Football Club to carry out its day-to-day administration more effectively and help promote its activities within the local community. The device will support the club in managing communications, organising activities, maintaining records, and engaging with both existing and new participants. By improving digital access, the club can raise its profile, reach more members of the Asian community, and encourage greater participation and representation in grassroots football. The laptop will also support the club's ongoing development by helping volunteers coordinate activities more efficiently and ensuring that opportunities are accessible to a wider audience.
