House of Hope

House of Hope is a charity that builds a stronger, more resilient community by offering vital support to those who are facing hardship. The charity provides free guidance and services around employment, housing, welfare, benefits, education, and family matters that ensure that people not only survive but have the opportunities to thrive. With directors having real, hands-on experience involved in community and charity work before House of Hope were up and running, the organisation has a strong understanding of the challenges faced by the people it supports. Their goal is not only to meet immediate needs, but to help people build long-term stability, confidence, and hope. Unfortunately, digital exclusion affects both the organisation and the people they support on a daily basis, this creates barriers when communicating, connecting and completing everyday tasks. Access to devices is crucial in empowering people to take control of their own progress, access opportunities and make a positive impact on their own lives.

The charity received one donated laptop which will make a significant difference to the way that House of Hope supports their community. Much of their work relies on digital access to help people such as filling out forms, writing CVs and making job applications. The donated laptop will provide an additional resource that can be used during support sessions, enabling more beneficiaries to access the online services they require. This will not only expand their digital skills but also increase their confidence to use technology independently. The laptop will allow the charity to deliver their support more efficiently and expand their reach to beneficiaries, whilst also strengthening their operations, improving the quality of services, and creating new opportunities for their community.
