Norton Housing & Support
Norton Housing & Support is a Leicester-based charity that has been supporting adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and neurodivergent conditions for over 40 years. The organisation provides safe housing and community-based support to individuals in need, helping vulnerable people thrive in a stable environment and gain the confidence to live independently. Its mission is summed up in its ethos: not just coping, but living. This strapline came not from the charity but from a beneficiary they helped and it has continued to shape their commitment in supporting others. The charity delivers a range of services, including one-to-one support designed to develop everyday living skills, as well as a specialist women's scheme supporting women and mothers with young children. For example, the women's scheme means each woman has her own private bedroom and access to safe communal spaces which help build community, confidence and connection. Through its work, Norton Housing & Support continues to strengthen social and community connections, providing security, encouragement, and opportunities for individuals to achieve greater independence and reach their full potential.
The donation of this laptop will enable the charity to continue making a positive difference within the community. It will help beneficiaries stay connected, access essential support and services, develop digital skills, and further empower individuals to live more independently. The device will provide additional opportunities for people to access online resources, communicate with support networks and build confidence using technology in their daily lives. It will also support the charity's ability to deliver services effectively and respond to the growing digital needs of its beneficiaries.
