This charity are dedicated to supporting autistic children and young people so they can access meaningful education and develop their independence through training in order to take the skills they learn forward into their future lives. A key priority for the charity is expanding access to early intervention, accessing educational needs earlier and develop more community based models that can reach families and provide them with support. Beyond Autism provide services for schools, post 19 provision and national outreach programs to parents and families. Their approach is grounded in the belief that behaviour is communication and they build relationships with families and individuals so they can gain better understanding of autism, build confidence and improve long term outcome beyond the charity’s support.
Beyond Autism received 2 A40 mobile phones and 5 SIM cards at this event. This donation will have meaningful impact on both the services they provide and the families they support. Technology plays a vital role in how they deliver their programmes, particularly supporting communication for young people and children. The charity states, “At Beyond Autism, I Pads and Laptops are more than technology, they are a voice. For non speaking children, they unlock communication, connection and the chance to be heard.”
