St Mungo’s are a charity who, for the past 55 years, have been supporting people to recover from homelessness. Founded in 1969, St Mungo’s has grown from their first hostel in a marmite factory in 1973, to joining forces with Broadway Housing in 2014. Today, it is one of the country’s leading homelessness charities. They aim to end homelessness through two missions, which is working directly with the people at risk of homelessness and providing them with services they need to move forward with their development. Secondly, they influence policy makers to make change and through their operational expertise, they wish to make a positive difference, being committed, creative, inclusive, empowering and accountable. These values underpin all the work St Mungo’s does to help people on the streets and end the cycle of homelessness.
St Mungo’s was nominated by Landaid and received one Windows 11 laptop. This donation will mean that the beneficiary receiving this device can manage their benefits, access learning resources and have better employment opportunities. The charity work with clients towards independence and support them to manage their personal lives, finances and essential responsibilities to ensure long term stability, and a laptop will support the beneficiary with these skills going forward.
