Ukraine Appeal
Ukraine Appeal is a Milton Keynes-based charity founded following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Led by co-founder Viktoriya Shtanko, the charity supports displaced Ukrainians through community programmes, wellbeing activities, cultural events and its Sunflower Ukrainian Supplementary School. It also coordinates humanitarian aid deliveries to Ukraine, including medical supplies, hygiene products and other essential goods.
In 2023, representatives of Ukraine Appeal met His Majesty King Charles III during his visit to Milton Keynes. They discussed the charity’s work and the continuing needs of displaced Ukrainian families and presented the King with a Ukrainian flag signed by Ukrainian defenders.
The charity received ten complete desktop PC setups and three laptops, generously donated by Professor Michael Mainelli through his consultancy Z/Yen. The devices will be distributed through Ukraine Appeal to Lyceum No. 2 School of the Pokrovsk City Council, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine, helping pupils and teachers continue teaching and learning despite the challenges caused by the ongoing war.
