Laamiga is a Camden-based charity supporting women from minority ethnic, migrant and refugee backgrounds to build confidence, develop skills and move towards greater independence. Through one-to-one mentoring, skills-development programmes and access to training and other opportunities, the charity supports women with their wellbeing, employment, literacy and digital skills. Its programmes also help women reduce isolation, improve financial resilience, explore employment or self-employment and become more actively involved in their local communities.
The charity received one Windows 11 laptop. The donated device will support Laamiga’s mentoring and skills-development work by giving staff, volunteers and the women they support greater access to digital tools and online resources. It will help with digital skills development, employment and training opportunities, online applications and communication, while also supporting the charity’s day-to-day delivery of programmes. By improving access to technology, the laptop will help Laamiga continue reducing digital exclusion and supporting women to become more confident and independent.
