The WENDO (Women’s Empowerment Network Development Org) is a chairty that supports women and girls in rural Kenya, partiucarly those facing poverty, educational disadvnatge and gender ineqaulity. The charity aims to break the cycles of these impacts by ensuring women and girls feel empowered and have access to education, menstrual dignity, safeguarding, nutrition and community development. The do this through community lead pprogrammes, including educational scholarship, dignity kit distribution and positive parenting and trauma support. This is underpinned by values of dignity, compassion and empowerment the chairty seeks to create long term, sustainable chnage by helping their beneficiaries gain the knolwege and confidence to pursue the opportunities needed to thrive. The chairty work alongside local partners and community leaders to carry out the fundamental support to the women and girls in Kenya.
The charity received one windows 11 laptop. This donation will strengthen WENDO’s to acheive a much greater impact and dedicate more time to supporting vulnerable women and girls and less time overcoming technical barriers. Dedicating their resources elsewhere means imporvment of operational capacity in both the Uk and Kenya. It will enable the team to manage projects and administracive tasks more effectively. It will further ensure better communication with schools and partners, prepare funding applications, monitor program impact and support volunteers.
